Workshop
Exam Prep workshops are offered through the New York Mental Health
Counselors Association (WWW.NYMHCA.ORG),
state-wide and scheduled in conjunction with NYSED scheduled exams. This is a
two-day work shop
designed to prepare counseling professionals for taking the the New York
State exam required for licensure as Mental Health Counselor, Creative Arts
Therapist, Marriage & Family Therapist, and Psychoanalysts. All registrations are made through the

Two hour presentation designed for professionals
interested in understanding the various levels and types of defense mechanisms
used as coping skills to guard against anxiety.

Two hour presentation designed for professionals
interested in understanding the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM) Multiaxle
system.

Mental Status Exam
Two hour presentation designed for professionals
interested in understanding how to use a Mental Status Exam (MSE).

Identifying & Reporting
Child Abuse and Maltreatment/Neglect
Two hour certificate course designed for professionals that need to fulfill
the NYS requirement for Mandated Reporter Training. All registrations are made through the
New York Mental Health Counselors Association (NYMHCA) web site WWW.NYMHCA.ORG.
NYMHCA will send certificates of completion to the individual meeting
requirements within two weeks of course completion. For dates and
